Letter from President Skip Davidson

January 2024

Happy New Year Everyone,

I just received some wonderful news about our club….you all shot 549,747 targets in 2023!
That number shatters the previous two years by over 30%. What thrills me is that it tells that
we have a near record or record number of members shooting a record number of targets. I
love the idea that more people are learning about our club and coming out to shoot – THANK
YOU all!! I hope everyone continues to spread the word about our club to family and friends.
Of course, with those numbers, we need more help than ever. We have had a number of
members step up to volunteer with setting targets, grounds maintenance & garbage disposal,
and we will have a new member or two behind the front desk in 2024.

However, we are still short of help – especially desk workers. Volunteering to help behind the
desk is only a six-hour commitment – 9am to 3pm one Saturday or Sunday each month. Please
consider supporting the club in this way. As a token (pun intended) of our appreciation, you get
three tokens for each day worked as well as a free membership. We have been asked if a
spouse can “tag team” helping or if two friends can sign up and help each other out…..Yes, Yes,
Yes!!! We are open to just about any suggestion….the bottom line is that we need your help.

The following days are open: 1st Saturday, 2nd Saturday, 4th Saturday.

We have an exciting 2024 lined up for you this year. Our New Year’s Protection Shoot is
Tomorrow, and the Spring League will begin in February. This league will be ALL sporting clays
targets, you can shoot anytime during the three months of the league, and the format will be
two-person teams. Once again, we are trying something new to see how it works.
Also planned for 2024 are more frequent night shoots under the black lights….maybe even
some trap and skeet black-light shooting, a few protection shoots, the Indiana State Skeet
Championships again this year, the Indiana Super Sporting Clays Championships, etc., etc.
Remember, we shoot year-round at KOSKO and only close if there is a tremendous amount of
snow or if the temperatures drop way below freezing for a sustained period. I look forward to
seeing you at KOSKO soon and hope we can shoot over 600K targets in 2024
